Leader of the Committee for spatial planning
Zrinka Rudež graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism in Sarajevo, received her master’s degree from the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb, and had her doctorate from the Faculty of Architecture RTWH Aachen.
Zrinka’s professional experience begins with work at the Institute for Architecture, Urbanism and Spatial Planning of the Faculty of Architecture in Sarajevo, then she becomes the head of the Department for Spatial Planning in the Secretariat for Spatial Planning of the Municipality of Dubrovnik, and then the Director of the County Institute for Spatial Planning, Dubrovnik.
From 2008 to 2012, she worked at INSTITUTE IGH, as director of the Dubrovnik Business Center and director of the Institute for Spatial Planning and Urbanism.
Since the end of 2012, she has been working independently in her company URBANIZAM Dubrovnik d.o.o. until today.
She created more than 150 spatial planning documents, as a coordinator, chief planner, a design manager, and also over 75 studies, programs, and opinions as well as over 250 projects, professional and scientific works.
In addition, she participated as a lecturer, assistant professor, and associate professor at the Universities of Sarajevo, Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik, and Aachen.
As an authorized architect, she is a member of the Croatian Chamber of Architects and Engineers in Construction as well as a member of the Engineering Chamber of Montenegro, authorized by the Ministry of Culture to carry out work on the protection and preservation of cultural assets, namely research and study of the landscape of immovable cultural assets.
Zrinka is also a member of the Scientific Council for Natural Science Research of the Adriatic, Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
The most recent awards won by Zrinka refer to the Plaque at the SAN Biennale, Landscape, studio Zaton Mali (2021), II. place at the 30th and 32nd Salon of Urbanism in Niš (2021 and 2023).
Zrinka Rudež has been a permanent court expert for architecture – high-rise construction, urbanism, and real estate evaluation since 2023 and is also an expert in the field of spatial planning, project management and consulting in the field of spatial planning, urbanism, and design, environmental and nature protection. She is an expert in urban planning – avoiding the creation of heat clouds in urban space in theory and practice.
