The first comprehensive conference on the subject of ESG, titled “Using ESG criteria to a sustainable economy – Future Perfect Business,” was held on April 4, 2022, with the goal of opening a broader discussion on the topic of raising awareness of the economy’s and society’s sustainability, as well as the implementation of new EU regulations aimed at environmental protection, organized by the International Institute for Climate Action (IICA), Media Val, and the Croatian Association of Employers (HUP), with the partnership of the European Commission.
Marija Pujo Tadić, president of the International Institute for Climate Action (IICA), explained the reasons for establishing the Future Perfect Business initiative in her presentation:
“The initiative was founded with the primary goal of educating, informing, raising awareness, and networking the business community, as well as all interested individuals, in order to meet the set environmental criteria and work together to find a way for a long-term sustainable society. The initiative invites everyone to the table, including the business community, government representatives, regional and local governments, all political parties, non-profit (NGO) organizations, and the general public: the trainings, which begin on April 11, are designed for all companies preparing for the new financial and reporting period and are being conducted by the International Institute for Climate Action in collaboration with the International Association for Sustainable Economy (IASE). The training aims to provide professional assistance to businesses in the preparation of non-financial reports as well as the incorporation of the Low Carbon Strategy, the Adaptation Strategy, and the European Green Plan into their business plans. More than 100 professors from around the world, including four Nobel laureates, worked on the education syllabus.”
