REPORT FROM CARBON EXPO 2013

¸

The world’s leading international trade fair and conference for emissions trading, including solutions to reduce the carbon footprint and the application of clean technologies took place in Barcelona from 29 to 31 May 2013.

The Carbon Expo celebrated its tenth anniversary, with three days of lectures, presentations, and discussions on the current state of the carbon market and its prospects for the future. The fair and conference drew over 2,200 visitors from 110 countries. Carbon Expo is one of the few opportunities for national officials from both developed and developing economies to meet with representatives from the private sector, civil society, and the media to discuss policy issues such as emissions trading and CO2 emissions reduction, funding sources, and so on.

Mrs. Marija Pujo Tadić, Vice-President of the Croatian Association for Reducing the Carbon Footprint, attended CARBON EXPO 2013 this year.

Mrs. Pujo Tadić took part in several presentations and round tables on a wide range of topics, most of which were related to three main areas: political currents, funding sources for climate change policy, and clean technologies.

Each of the three areas covered the most important topics, such as emissions trading, future prospects, carbon pricing policy, and regulatory measures required to support the transition to a low- CO2 society, and so on.

As lecturers and round table participants, eminent experts from the fields of emissions trading and climate change, as well as finance and banking, attended the Conference.

The value of the information and knowledge gathered in this manner is unmeasurable for both the Association and all of its members.
